The adaptation for the stage of Dominique Botha’s award-winning novel is presented by the producers of Die reuk van appels and Kamphoer. This poignant story about family, loyalty, loss and growing up plays out against the landscape of a deeply divided South Africa. A young man’s life is heading ineluctably toward a tragic end in a country giving birth to a new democracy. Political, personal memory and a decaying rural setting are dramatically interweaved in a sister’s elegy for her brother.
