Ekstasis is an exploration of a young woman’s journey as, through a blossoming relationship with her best friend and the dissipation of her parents’ marriage, she discovers love and intimacy, and the loss thereof. The film is set in the fisherman’s town of Velddrif and explores queer identities within a multicultural South African identity.
